USS Wisconsin (BB-64)


The museum, in co-operation with Naval Sea Systems Command and Nauticus, is in charge of the historic interpretation of the battleship Wisconsin. The ship is free for visitors to visit, though the interior spaces are sealed due to the ship's status within the Navy's Inactive Fleet. Tour Route
The museum has five to seven volunteer docents on the ship who are available to answer any questions. The route covers the main deck and three decks above the main deck. Due to the ship's mobilization status with the Inactive Fleet, the interior spaces have been sealed. Spring hours are now in effect. The ship is Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Noon to 5 p.m. Closed on Mondays. Please be aware that closing procedures begin 15 minutes before close and we do close the ship due to inclement weather. Come to the second floor of Nauticus to gain access to the ship. Admission to the ship and to the Hampton Roads Naval Museum is free.

Wisconsin Exhibits
Before you go onboard the ship learn about the history of the ship with the "Wisky Walk" exhibits. See video images of the ship during its three tours of duty in the U.S. Navy. See artifacts from the men who served on it. See a real 16-inch shell!
Wisconsin's Silver Service
The people of the state of Wisconsin commissioned a silver dinner and tea set for the ship that bears their state's name. Many of the pieces in the set are on display for public viewing outside the entrance to the museum's main gallery.
